As Evelyn walked down her way to her grandmother on Pioneer Square, located right beside the central area of Seattle’s Downtown, she couldn’t help but contemplate her surroundings with a quiet fascination. Seattle was, indeed, quite a curious city. In some aspects so similar and yet so distinct from her loved New York, the city she had unwillingly moved from with her grandmother, Seattle was such a place full of life and energy that it was extremely difficult to fight back the contagious spirit that seemed to flow as naturally on every city’s corner as in her own body.
Probably that was part of the reason why, as Evelyn did her way to her meeting place, found her herself walking with such enthusiasm it was difficult to conceal her bright and joyful mood from the others. There was, however, another reason that could explain the blast of energy that seemed to mysteriously glow from her, and that was probably due to the place she had just exited.
The Seattle’s Aquarium, that was the name of her newly promoted favourite place. Beautiful either in his outer structure or inside his walls, the aquarium irradiated a mysterious and peaceful aura that perfectly matched with his porpoise. Truth to be told, even after countless hours admiring the deepness of the oceans in such a singular place, Evelyn hadn’t got tired of it. As matter of fact, if it wasn’t for the fact the aquarium had to close or because she was starting to run late for meeting, Evelyn would be delighted to stay longer, but as her clock pointed on its screen 6 p.m., she knew she would have to delay the rest of her visit to another time.
One soft smile touched Evelyn’s lips at the thought of visiting again the aquarium. Now that she was living in Forks, Seattle wasn’t that far and, probably, she and Catherine would make often trips to the city. That was one of the brightest things about Forks. It was calm and it was near Seattle, two qualities that didn’t made that place as tedious and hideous as she had supposed at the beginning, even thought she still believed Tupperware’s as a much better name than forks. After all Tupperware’s weren’t sharp or dangerous like forks... Shame her grandmother seemed to not understand her rationing, or at least being amused by it.
As if it was magic, or much likely coincidence, the sound of her cell phone ringing call coming from her sporty bag caught Evelyn’s attention instantly making the young half-vampire search it quickly as possible. Either because of the fact that single person was the only one that had her pone number, or simply because there was no one else who would remember to call her, Evelyn didn’t have to look at the name displayed in her screen to see who was calling her or waited the person to speak. She knew precisely who was calling her.
“Grandma, I’m just late... it’s not the end of the world. I’m heading already down there.”Evelyn started a soft smile on her lips as she easily imagined the overly concerned expression of her grandmother. Honestly, she didn’t understand why she had to be so overprotective. It wasn’t like if she was completely selfless, after all she was part vampire... it wasn’t like if there were too many things that could harm her.
As Evelyn waited for her grandmother’s concerned voice to pop up and start arguing with her how late she was and, even thought she was still ten minutes sooner than the appointed hour, the girl couldn’t be more surprised than to be greeted by a calm and laughing voice of Catherine. “Oh, I’m not worried...” The elderly woman laughed. “ ... As matter of fact, I was just calling to let you know I’m late. I won’t make to the Pioneer Square in less than 45 minutes, so take your time and enjoy your views up there.”
Was she dreaming or that was a sign she was loosing her sanity? Stopping abruptly as she kept listening to her grandmother’s explanation of delayed her personal businesses were and how she would prefer Evelyn would use the opportunity to visit more places, there was no much she could do to prevent her mouth to fully drop open in astonishment.
“... Visit a coffee, try to make new friends...” Catherine continued, so much for Evelyn’s shock. Should she be concerned about her grandmother’s mental condition? Possibly. “... I got to go now. Kisses and see you later...”
“But, I...” Evelyn tried to reason with her grandmother but it was already late. Before she could have time to say anything else, her grandmother had turned off the call leaving behind a completely dazed and frozen girl, staring at her cell phone. “Perfect, this is perfect...” Evelyn finally managed to argue with herself, desperately.
Now what she was supposed to do with such amount of free time? Start running around like a kid and play the detective’s game? “Great, just... Great!” She couldn’t help but mutter annoyingly for herself as she forced herself to keep moving. Hopefully, she would find something to entertain her... or at least she hoped so, for the sake of her sanity.

'Can't you insects do anything right?" An annoyed old vampire spoke into his cell phone. "Tiberius, it's not our fault, assassination isn't our job or priority." Another man spoke on the other side of the phone. Tiberius grunted angrily. You serpents are just amusing you know that? Never mind that, send the target information to the dead drop location number 74, and have it there within the next twenty minutes or I'm not taking the job you weasel." Tiberius retorted into the phone. "Hey, you remember just who you work for buddy, my father will have you killed if he heard you talking to me this way!" The man said with a threatening voice. Tiberius looked at his phone and laughed into it. "You think i'm afraid of you humans?" Tiberius said angrily.
This confused the other man on the phone. "Why do you talk like some sort of Shakespeare wanna be? By the way, yeah you should be afraid of my father. Why don't you fear us?" Tiberius' expression became and then calmed down and he gently said, "Because...I'm Tiberius Aurelias...And I'm the one who solves your problems." He said as he hung the phone up and placed it on the table. Tiberius hated being in this contract killing business, though the pay was amazing, the respect was little from ignorant little worms such as spoiled little brats trying to do his job for him. Tiberius vowed to one day kill that annoying little chick with his bare hands someday.
Tiberius looked at his wrist watch, he had twenty minutes to get to Seattle and locate his target information. He was currently in Forks, he was in a small diner in the middle of town, most of the people were staring at him, he had a flashy suit on with sunglasses, though the sun was covered by the clouds. He turned to them with an annoyed expression. "What?!" He said calmly but with intent, a smooth and soft tone. They just turned back to their food. Tiberius laughed to himself and got up, buttoned his coat as he began walking out the diner. He walked into the parking lot and looked for his vehicle, it was very similar to Alexander's honda, only it was Red, not very subtle, but he didn't want to have the same color as Alexander.
He hopped onto the bike and revved the engine loudly as the back wheel turned rapidly but was still in park, thus creating a cloud of white smoke from the tire creating friction on the gravel. He let off the front wheel brake and he sped off and was gone in two seconds. He rode flawlessly into the outskirts of forks and onto the road to Seattle. He sped the entire way, he was there in about fifteen minutes. He pulled over and parked at a local store and left his bike there, he'd continue on foot to the dead drop location. He walked for awhile, not paying anyone any mind but people were staring at him. He found his way into a back alley behind an abandoned building and stopped where nobody could see him.
He looked down and saw a broken wooden and hollow crate covered with a fishing net. He looked around, nobody was near, he reached into the crate and pulled out a neatly sealed manila envelope containing the target information of his next victim. He opened the envelope and took out the papers, a good picture of thee target, he memorized it, name, D.O.B., SSN, Address, worst fears, etc etc. Everything he needed to kill his target, even the kill condition, he was supposed to execute him, mafia style, with a gun right between the eyes. Tiberius' favorite type of kill condition.
He closed the envelope and tucked it in his suit then exited the alley way and began walking towards a large motel. He would rent a room for the night, for no reason really, not like he was gonna use it, he just wanted to feel normal. He walked into a five star motel and rented a penthouse suite, he got the keys and left the motel, didn't even go up to the room. He had much time to kill before he had to kill. He walked down the city's main area and just enjoyed the sights, not much to see though, in all his three hundred years, he'd seen it all. He stopped at an inside/outside cafe and sat at one of the tables outside of it. He crossed one leg over the other as a gentleman would and ordered a coffee, not that he would drink it, just to look casual. He took out his phone and looked through it for something, he got a text from Alexander wishing him "good luck tonight." Tiberius texted back, "This technology is quite amusing, good fortune be with you old friend." He sent the text and put the phone away.
His coffee arrived and he tipped the waitress a hundred dollar bill. He winked at her and she thanked him and skipped off. Tiberius knew how hard it was for waiters and waitresses to make a decent tip on a slow night like tonight would be. He always left huge tips for food he ordered, but never ate. Alexander was the same way, he probably picked it up from him along their timeless travels and endless assassinations. They definitely had the money to do as they pleased from all the people they killed for money.
It wasn't something he was proud of doing, but everyone had their bread and butter in this world, and this was theirs. They would kill for food anyway so why not make a bit of money while they were at it?

“Visit a coffee, try to make new friends...” The words were still stuck on Evelyn’s thoughts as she quickly paced down the main street of Seattle’s Downtown, her mood rising up slowly as seconds passed by. What was wrong with her grandmother? Where was obsessive, cautious and over protective side of her? She couldn’t have left it on New York, or else Evelyn would have noticed it earlier, so the only remaining option was... brainwashing! That was it, someone had brainwashed her... Aliens had brainwashed her! Or maybe not. Evelyn pondered, putting a term on her drastic considerations as instinctively slowed down her feet until she finally immobilized herself and leaned against a wall between bookshop and a small coffee.
What was wrong with her? She shouldn’t be complaining about having a little more of freedom, after all, it was everything she had always desired. A little more of liberty to walk around and have fresh air, a confidence vote of Catherine to be alone and have a little time for herself... It was what she had looked-for for so many times and now, that her grandmother was willing to give her one chance, forty-five minutes of freedom in a city full of life and passion, and she was complaining about that. Yeah, that was very intelligent of her, indeed. And she thought it was her grandmother was loosing it...
“Or then, maybe, we are both losing it...” She said for herself, in a whisper barely audible, not particularly worried if the people walking up and down the sidewalk could listen to her. Who cared if they judged her nuts? Besides, it wasn’t like if that was such a big of a lie...
How much time had passed with her there, silent and immersed on her vacant thoughts, Evelyn couldn’t tell, but if wasn’t for the sudden bump against her small body and she would had stood there much longer instead of being ripped away so roughly from her thoughts. Looking up to face her unexpected accidental aggressor , now laying down on the ground, Evelyn couldn’t help but glare at the him, a man around his thirties, and cross her arms annoyingly. Was him a gentleman and he would had apologized her, saving Evelyn from the unpleasant task of reprimanded him and heartily forgive the man’s lack of attention, but as much as she hoped for that it wasn’t fated to happen on the single moment the unpleasant man opened his mouth.
Gross, unpleasant and uncivilized... Those were the words that immediately popped the girls mind as then men aggressively stood up and started yelling with her. How could a single person be so hideous and unpleasant? More important, how could someone cause an accident and still think he was right?
“...you’re stupid kid. Getting in the middle of others affairs...” Evelyn caught up the last sentence of the man and felt her body tense with irritation.
“Excuse me, you were the one going against me. If there is someone that has the right to argue than that person would be me... ” Evelyn bickered back, coldly, which proved to be effortless as the man continued yelling and left her alone, walking quickly again in what direction only God knew and talking from himself leaving Evelyn there drained by the shock.
What the hell was his problem? Feeling her irritation dropping quickly, Evelyn quickly forced herself to put in order her thoughts and strait herself quickly. Who the hell he thought he was? Bumping in someone, not apologizing and then insulting her? No, she wasn’t going to take that. He was going to apologize her, even if she would have to chase him around the whole city and then tie him up to a chair.
“Stupid, rude, annoyingly Italian-like mutter...” She cursed softly, so only her could listen, and took of behind the man. “T’m going to tell him who’s the kid.”

Tiberius saw a few men basically tackle a young girl. It was happening right in front of him. He watched with a sense of curiousness. The men were quite rude indeed. The girl seemed rather frustrated as well. He watched as the men left after insulting her and she was about to chase after them. Tiberius hated this part. He quickly stood up and moved in front of her but facing them. his face moved to half face her and he said softly."Leave it alone miss." He said turning back to watch them walk away. his eyes squinting, holding back the urge to teach them a lesson. When they were gone he turned back around to face the girl. "Now why don't you run along?" He said slowly and he walked back over to the table, left the money for the untouched coffee, looked at his watch then began to walk away.
It was coming to that hour, his target would be in position for him to strike soon. He had to make preparations and fast. Dealing with the little girl had cost him about five minutes already. He walked until he was out of sight from any human and he ran quickly to where his weapons were stashed in the city. an old abandoned building, Tiberius leapt through an open window and found his silver gun case inside. He opened it using a number combination and pulled out a beautiful looking silver .44 colt magnum. A beautiful handgun really. He screwed the silencer on it then slid it into his gun holster on the inside of his coat.
He closed the case then left out the same window he came in. He moved fast to the motel he rented the room for the night. He went into the elevator and clicked on the twelveth floor. His plan was to wait until the guards left, then walk in and execute the target before anyonne could notice and thats that. He arrived on the twelveth floor, the guards at the end of the hall way staring at him, he just nodded and went to a door and slid in a master lock key, opened the door and he went inside. He left the door unlocked. He waited for the guards to change shifts then he'd move in for the kill.
He only had to wait five minutes, the guards were called away to change shifts. This would give him five minutes to complete the kill. Once the elevator doors closed and the guards left, Tiberius exited his room and made his way down the hall to the target's room. He stood at the enterance and he slowly pulled out his gun.

Irritation and annoyance, those were the feeling Evelyn could feel boiling up inside her as she prepared herself to pursue her piece of vengeance. Was she another person, a less friendly one, and she would had ripped away the man’s head on the spot and let it burn into flames as she enjoyed her sadistic revenge. However, luckily for the man, she wasn’t that kind of person but instead a very compassionate one even thought that wouldn’t keep her from going after him. As matter of fact, there was nothing that could make her truly give up on her newly conceived plan and it was impelled for such certainty that Evelyn didn’t thought twice when she woke back from her lost daze and get off chasing after the man.
It was a well envisioned plan, of that Evelyn was sure about, and it once again meant to be ruined for some strange, annoying and contradictory fatality of fate. Before she had even managed to take more than five steps, the girl saw her way blocked away from a young man that stepped in front of her without warning making her nearly crush against him. It was luck her vision and reflexes were fairly better than the other man’s... and luckily enough on the particular day she was particularly conscientious of the people surrounding her, or else her obstacle in the form of the young man would had probably fell on the ground as the older one. Honestly, what was with everybody into stumbling across her path? Couldn’t they see she was dangerous, couldn’t they simple sense it? One punch a well directed punch and she could break bone, almost crush a cranium... And still people insisted into stumbling across her. Where was their sense of self-preservation?
Perhaps because her head was so full of thoughts, maybe because the simple unexpected appearance of the young man had startled, the need for going after the man was soothed and she found herself staring at half face of the stranger too taken aback to even react as he spoke to her. And it was much better if he hadn’t spoke at all.
What she would had initially concluded as being an act of respect and comprehension from a civilized young stranger, thought his words proved to be, after all, nothing more than condescendence of a stranger that judged for some silly defenceless girl. In the end, it was a matter of until the annoyance and rage would start to boil up again inside her veins as the girl forced herself to keep herself calm and sober.
“Now why don't you run along?...” his words kept echoing on her head as she saw him quickly gaze at her directly and then turn around to leave without any other word nor caring to wait from hers.
Breathe in. Breathe out... In, out... She commanded herself silently as she saw the stranger disappearing somewhere in a corner and the other man... Gone.
“d**n it!” She cursed under her breathe as she realized the rude man had disappeared and took of in the direction he had took, hoping this way she would manage to trail him back. Such a shame that her trailing skills were as efficient as her lazy cat, Morpheus.
It wasn’t, therefore, a surprise for Evelyn that, after ten minutes of unproductive search, all she had managed to do was lost herself in the middle of a dark and isolated alley near an old and Motel guarded by two man standing in the main door. Great, like if her day couldn’t already turn worse. Lost in the middle of Seattle, in a place so welcoming that caused her shivers all across her spine, and with no clue of her way back to the Pioneer Square.
“Such a lucky person I am.” She muttered for herself as she walked toward the direction of the Motel. Perhaps if she would go and ask the guards for some information’s they could help her out find her way out of there.
One brighter smile lightened her lips as, for the first time in minutes, Evelyn felt true joy and walked in the direction of the motel and watched distractively as she saw a man, a very familiar young man actually, running inside the motel to not be seen again. As she slowly started to recognize him as being the annoying condescending stranger, that was the name she had managed to baptize him. Fate had a strange and funny way of working, that Evelyn was sure, and it was just offering her the opportunity to settle back things with the mysterious stranger and put him back on his place, an opportunity she wasn’t willing to refuse.
It was funny how, in one second to other her priorities could change as quickly. As if her reasonable and intelligent plan of simply finding her way back was a vacant memory on the back of her head, the simply need to follow him in and find some reason to argue was so strong that instead of following her previous intentions, the girl found herself smiling at the two guards and greeting them cheerfully before she too stepped inside the Motel and barely caught sight of the man entering the elevator to the fifth floor. That’s not problem, I can take the stairs. She thought for herself mischievously, and headed toward them.
It took her three minutes, three necessary minutes to fully reach the fifth floor in her human velocity, her breathe as calm as even as she hadn’t done anything at all, and for once Evelyn felt pleaded something seemed to be working on that afternoon. Sure, she hadn’t made the other man apologize for his behaviour, it was true as well she had lost herself in the middle of Seattle, but at least now she was a few feet away from have a face-to-face word with the mysterious stranger her mind was finally settling down and her mood to lighten up slightly enough to make her conclude the idiocy of her plan.
Leave, Evelyn... Just Leave. One tiny little voice told her on the corner of her head and she knew it was right and so as she did. Shame things didn’t happen always as she wanted to... shame she hadn’t noticed the armchair right beside her because then, in her hurry to turn around and leave, perhaps she had actually seen it... because that way she hadn’t stumbled across it making it fall on the ground with a loud noise leaving her no option than hide herself behind a corner and expect to not be found for anyone. She surely was lucky...

Seconds felt like minutes, minutes turned into hours. He stood with his hand on the door knob. slowly counting in his head. "One...Two..." He pulled the hammer back on the gun and before he hits "three" he hears a loud crash behind him, he whips around the gun and points it at a fallen chair, no one around. He smelt something, strange yet familiar, it was the same scent the girl he stopped today had. His eyes squinted and he used his power to locate her. His eyes went pure black as his power began to show him where the girl was. It was a golden trail on the floor that lead to a highlighted, golden shaped girl hiding behind the corner beside the chair. His eyes returned to normal and in a split second he was right in front of her pointing the gun in her face.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" He yelled at her fiercely. "Did you follow me?" He asked a little more calmly now. "Speak or so help me i'll blow your brains out." He said his eyes angry now. Was she a spy? Why was she here? Many unanswered question flew into his head as precious time was being wasted. He should have the target killed by now and be one hundred thousand dollars richer for it. Something strange about the girl though, her scent was confusing. She gave off a vampire scent, but at the same time, he smelt human. He tilted his head slightly at the thought. "What are you?" He moved his face closer to hers now, with only the intention of getting a better smell of her scent. His voice was calmer, almost soothing really, as if his anger had dispersed.

As her body seemed to ask for air, her already heart rate beating furiously against her ribbons as each second passed by slowly, Evelyn closed her eyes and prayed for a miracle. A miracle that would involve her not being found, something that magically would make her reckless move to pass imperceptible by everyone else and would save her from a big amount of trouble... A woman yelling downstairs, a man dancing around naked... Anything! Was it too much to ask for only for once? No, of course not. Why would fate bother into being easy on her for once? What was the fun of that for those annoying little karmic beings that loved to make her life a living hell?
There was no escape, no way back. Even if she wanted to have one, even if she could put her thoughts in place and make her hybrid neurons start working unwillingly, the clear and delicate sound of footsteps was enough to freeze her body irreversibly, but not as much as what was meant to happen next. Killer guards, being arrested... That she could handle, but not that. After all who would easily deal with being yelled at with a gun pointed at her face? Not her, that was for sure...
Hopeless, with no control over her body, Evelyn couldn’t help but squint quickly at the sight of the young man, the stranger she had meet before and judged to be a fairly decent person, now glaring at her fiercely while demanding explanations for her. Stunned and petrified, the shock draining all of her warmness from her body, all she could do was stare at the man absently, no signs of emotion in her face. It was then when everything blew up inside her...
First came fear, fear from her herself, from dying, from being forced to expose herself to save her own skin... Next come relief. Did he even suspect what she could do to his irritating little head? And finally irritation. Who the heel he thought he was?! First treating her like a kid... No threatening her and accusing her of following him. That wasn’t true! Or at least, that wasn’t partially true...
“Excuse me ?” She finally forced herself to speak, her voice a tiny little higher than normally. “I don’t own you any explanations of who I am or what I AM DOING HERE!” Evelyn yelled, irritated. Who he thought he was? Idiotic, arrogant... kid! “Blow up my brain?” She laughed, her blue eyes sparkling as she crossed her arms on her chest, creating an invisible barrier between her and the stranger. “Like if I’m afraid of you... My father eats people like you at the breakfast!” She continued, grinning amusedly.
And as matter of fact, he probably did. Not that the stranger would believe that, not that she even cared to explain him how that was possible. After all she didn’t even own him any sort of explanation and...Why the hell was he staring at her like if he had smelled something funny?
“I’m an alien, you know. One of those green little things that come from Mars.” She couldn’t help but reply him, bitterly. Like if he had the right to now what she was. Actually, why he had remembered to ask her such a thing?... That was when she saw him getting closer to closer as matter of fact.
Her heart, slowly returning to his normal humming beat rate, missed a few beats when she saw his face getting closer to hers, too close for her own opinion, and impulse by the adrenaline she did the only thing that was plausible on such situation. Before the stranger could get any closer, before her eyes could even meet his and she would allow herself to look at him straight on the face, Evelyn regained her beloved control and placed her both hands on the man’s chest trying to push him away from her.
“Get one more inch closer and I swear, I will bite you!” She warned him, glaring at him irritated, the meaning of her threat as immaterial as her words.
Sure, she didn’t indeed to bit him. That would be a little too drastic, but he didn’t have to know, did he? Of course that alternative wasn’t completely out of her plans... if he wouldn’t give her another choice, she wouldn’t think twice in fulfilling her threats.

She looked afraid at first. He smiled at her being afraid, then she got a little braver by the minute. She started going off on him and he could only give her a fascinated look. He was impressed, this little girl was yelling at him. He almost fell in love with her right then and there. He laughed at the thought,, he found her to be very annoying. He should have just pulled the trigger right then and there, but something made him hold his fire. Then she said she wasn't afraid of him, said her father ate people like him for breakfast. He laughed. "Is your father a werewolf?" He chuckled slightly.
She responded him with an attitude, saying she was an alien. He smirked. "Well your definitely not human...not fully anyway." His Italian accent and ancient tone flowing through his lips. He looked closer at her when she put her hands on his chest to try and push him away. With his empty hand he lightly grabbed her arms. Her skin was warm, like a humans. He tilted his head. Bite me? you have issue don't you miss?" He said softly to her. The elevator buzzer went off. Tiberius slowly turned to watch as five, black suit and tie wearing men with sun glasses all came out turned to Tiberius. They saw the weapon in his hand and immediately drew their weapons.
Tiberius gave an unnecessary sigh and muttered to himself, "Here we go." He grabbed the girl and gently pushed her into a broom closet beside them and closed the door. He did this all with lightening speed, as a vampire would. the guards had very little time to react. Tiberius then turned to the men and raised his weapon, setting off five perfectly aimed shots that went straight into their skulls and through the backs of their heads. Good thing he had a silencer on the gun or else it would've been loud. the shots were like a gentle whisper.
Tiberius walked quickly over to the room again, looked back, the girl was still in the closet. He opened the door, the target was washing his hands. Tiberius didn't say anything and grabbed the man and dragged him into the living room of the room and put him down on his knees. The man pleaded for his life. Tiberius smiled at the man, holding the gun to his forehead.

What was wrong with that boy? Or man, or stranger or... Whatsoever! What was wrong with him. First Looking at her like if he wanted to murder, actually threat her of that and then looking at her in some strange sort of daze, fascinated. Was it possible that, by any mean, she had grown another head? How could a single person be so frustrating? Here she was, pinned against a wall by a stranger with a mood quite instable, and being mocked by him. It was supposed him to be afraid, not joke around and ask if her father was a werewolf. Yeah, and she thought her day couldn’t get worse...
“My dad, a werewolf?” She asked, laughing. “Nope, that would be my mum.” Evelyn lied. ”She cooks guys like you so my dad can eat them at breakfast. ” The girl added, bitterly, a soft smile on her lips.
Her heart, thought, skipped a bit at the thought of her mother, long ago deceased and gone from her life, but the girl forced herself to push away the thought and faced the stranger fiercely, laying her bright blue his in the mesmerizing deepness of his black and crimson one’s. Strange, how hadn’t she noticed it before? And, more important, who could have such a colour like that, anyway? Feeling a shiver go by her spine and her stomach to freeze at the sigh of his eyes, Evelyn forced herself to look away and gasped for some air quickly when he once again spoke. And how she hoped he hadn’t spoke at all...
There was no way to cover, no possible way to deny it back... On the very moment he stated he knew she wasn’t human, or at least not fully human, all her blood drained all over her face and her cheeks, usually covered with a light and warm pink shade, went almost as marble white as his.
“You think so?... “Evelyn finally forced herself to spoke, her voice a barely audible whisper. “Well, you’re wrong then.” She added coldly. It didn’t mattered he wouldn’t believe her, it didn’t matter what he thought she was and she surely wouldn’t tell him either. Besides, she had just decided she was leaving that stupid motel... Or at least that was her idea. Once she would manage to pull him away from her and get some free space she could use as an escape. It was clear, however, providence didn’t seem to share her ideas. When she thought she was seconds away form keeping him away from herself, with his free hand, grabbed her arms, a sensation she couldn’t had ever been prepared for...
Ice cold, deadly ice cold. There was no better way to describe the touch of his hands on her bare skin making it impossible for her to push him away like she wished. His touch, colder than ice, so different than hers and yet it looked so oddly familiar. The confusion filled her expression as she gazed absently the stranger, her mind racing trying to find the piece of a puzzle she didn’t even knew she was trying to pull together.
“I have an issue? Look who’s talking...The guy that likes to hang around, point weapons at the head of innocent girls and...” She started once again, ready to rip his head of if necessary, when her words were interrupted by the sound of the elevator and five men in suit got out and, staring all at her and the stranger, all drew their own weapons. Oh great, taht is just perfect!
Before any of the mafia style guys could do anything, before even Evelyn could reason what was happening, the stranger pushed her away from the men and closed her inside a broom closet, something that could be rather normal if it wasn’t for the fact he had done it at an incredible seed, one speed that only matched her... a vampire speed.
“Oh dear...” She sighted, at shock. How could she have not noticed it earlier? The eyes, his burgundy eyes, and his skin so... cold. Could he be a... “Vampire?” her eyes widened with shock at the possibility and her stomach twisted in repulse as the scent of something particularly familiar was captured by her. Oh no... Forcing the broom closet door to open, which took her simply a few seconds, Evelyn opening the door to find five men on the floor lying dead, each one of them shoot on their forearm and the stranger gone. Sickened by the morbid situation, Evelyn was about to turn around when the noise of someone crying caught her attention and she followed it, finding in a small room the stranger pointing his arm at a poor man crying for his life.
“Haven’t your mother ever told you it isn’t funny to play the Mafia Bad Guy with innocent people?” She forced herself to spoke, coldly, from the door. “And, by any chance, from where you came from is that usual to so rudely close girls inside broom closets?” She added, irritated. Who cared if the guy was going to be pissed off? He had just ruined her day, so it was only fair she would start doing the same with his.

He smelt the girl come out of the closet, he made no reaction to it. He held his gun steady at the man's head while he begged for hiss life. The girl whipped around the corner standing at the door yelling at him, telling him this and that about being nice and such. Tiberius turned his head around to look at the girl with his gun still pointed at the man. "Well miss, my mother's been dead for a few yeas now." He smiled wickedly. "A lesson from you parent tends to fade every three hundred or so years miss." He said, still looking at her and he pulled the trigger of his gun, setting it off. It quietly sent a bullet directly into the skull of the target, right between his eyes and through the back of his head. The only blood splatter was behind the man's head.
Tiberius looked at the man's lifeless body fall to the ground limp and he holstered his gun inside his coat. He knelt now beside the dead man's body. The blood was all over his head, it flowed like a river from his head out of the wound and onto the perfectly white bleached carpet, leaving a "Bloody" mess. He took a long necklace with crossed and Italian symbols out from his side pocket and held it with both hands as he spoke in Italian and said a prayer for the man's soul. "Padre nostro, che sei nei cieli, cavi il tuo nome, venga il tuo regno, che sarà fatta sulla terra come in cielo." He spoke with his always present accent and ancient tone. He stood and put the necklace away after closing the man's eyes and placing two old coins on both.
He turned to the girl who was still there. "Whats your name girl?" He said with a calm and serene tone as he walked past her and looked at his wrist watch for the time. He was completely off schedule. He looked around counting the bodies. five guards, one target. He nodded to himself. "Job well done." He said quietly as he began walking toward the elevator. He pushed the button for the elevator, which was already there so the door just opened up. He turned to the girl. "Are you coming or not miss? I highly doubt you wish to be here when the F.B.I. arrives, they might mistake you for the cold blooded "monster" that did this." He said putting emphasis on monster. "You can fool them, but you can't fool me miss." He said holding the elevator door open to see if she'd accept his generous offer or not.

There was no doubt. The way he spoke, the meaning he wanted to impress in his words were the ones from someone who held no fear from anything, from someone that knew perfectly what his place in the world was and, more important, someone that was quite close to find out what she was. Evelyn couldn’t decide what was worse: his clear disdain for human life, the stupid mind games he was trying (and succeeding) with her, his apparent and odd manners he seemed to hold with her or his simple idiocy. There was no other way for Evelyn to misjudge the message he intended to pass on her. He was a vampire and he knew she would figure it out sooner or later.
Feeling her stomach jump in repulse when, finally, she realized there was no possible way to make that man from stopping from his morbid assignment, Evelyn forced herself to look away and close her eyes tightly to suppress the tears that now were tying to fall down. Please, take his pain... Please at least make it work and take his pain away. She pleaded for herself as she felt her peculiar ability work and her mind touched the one from man’s in agony and released him from his pain almost as quickly as the whisper of the gun that had caused it, and held it inside her.
Gasping from air as she felt the pain of the man from the brief seconds it took until he fully died, Evelyn forced herself to turn away and clean her tears as well as she tried to ignore the sickening scent his blood. It was then she heard the stranger’s voice praying in a language, one that was quite familiar to herself as matter of fact, and laughed coldly.
“Like if your prays were going to be any useful to that poor man... “She muttered, icily, refusing herself to turn around and stare at the stranger. ”Last time I checked in the Bible, God didn’t hear prays from murderers.” Much less from Vampires, She added for herself.
How could he, kill a man, an innocent men without apparent reason? The hate, filled with the pain of the dying man that she still was holding her memory, was consuming her slowly, hissing her to do something and act to fix everything that had been done, but instead she stood quiet and silent, and found herself looking vaguely at the floor below her.
Not even when he passed by her and asked her name she looked up. Only when he was meters away, on the elevator, she finally looked up and decided to reply him in the same void and soft voice as before.
“Is it your disdain for human life so overwhelming that you have regrets from the destruction YOU cause? Guess what, I’m not telling your name... As well as I would prefer to kiss a giant frog than coming with you. “She paused, her voice still even and calm. “Besides, when FBI or CIA comes around, then I shall tell them the kind of monster who caused all of this.” She deliberately emphasized the word monster, in hope that would annoy the young man. “It’s a good thing I will never see you in my life then, I surely don’t like to make others a fool of themselves a well as I don’t appreciate them to make me a fool of myself. It’s an agreement our intents are contradictory and it shall stay this way. “She finally spoke, quickly, for the first time in many months, her soft British accent slightly noticeable on her voice.

Tiberius ignored her insults to him about his prayers not working from a murderer. He stood in the elevator listening but ignoring her insults. moving his hand like a duck that just kept quacking. "I haven't got all day, are you coming or not?" He said his voice soft and slightly annoyed. He stepped out of the elevator and looked at her. He leaned against the elevator with an annoyed expression. He heard distant, yet closing foot steps from the stair well. Then he heard the opposite elevator raising slowly to their floor. He could hear radio's going on and off talking about the "witness being shot". Tiberius looked back at the girl and walked over to her. "Miss i'm gonna do you a favor." He said as he gently locked his hand around her wrist and pulled her behind him into the elevator.
He pushed the button for the ground floor. Tiberius held his hand over the girl's mouth, making sure she couldn't bite him as he held her back against the rear of the lift. Once the doors shut, the opposite opened and the stair way door burst open and in poured police, fbi and cia. He released her but stood between her and the emergency stop button so she couldn't stop them. He turned to face her. "This isn't gonna be easy, but if I you don't tell me your name, i'm just gonna call you brat." He said with a wicked grin as the elevator reched the bottom floor. Tiberius grabbed her again gently and held her close as he walked with her. "Now, brat, lets not attract any unwanted attention eh?" He said wrapping one arm around her waist to keep her near him.
The cops and officials just assumed they were a couple leaving the motel. Tiberius nodded to a police offer who returned the courtesy. They walked out of the Hotel and he still kept her close to him. There were many cops even outside and further down the street. He guided her along the buildings back to where he had parked his honda motorbike and he got on, pulling her on quickly with his vampire strength, throwing on some sport sunglasses, wrapping her arms around him so she wouldn't fall off and he sped off all in only a few seconds.
He was speeding as they left town, but once they got out of town then he really started zooming. they must've been going at least one twenty miles per hour most of the way. They drove for about 10 minutes but were far from any city already. He stopped and pulled over next to an all black honda, same year as his with a large sized silver gun case beside it. Tiberius jumped off the bike and turned it off. He looked at the girl. "We're safe for now, but we should keep moving, on foot from here. I don't know exactly what you are, but i know you have some vampire in you." He said waving for her to follow him as he headed into the woods.

He wasn’t listening to her, as matter of fact, she doubted he had ever been caring to listen to any of her arguments at all. Staying at the elevator, moving his hand mockingly like he was listening to a duck, the man kept ignoring her and testing her limits. When he finally spoke, asking her if she was coming with him or not once again, she knew she had reached her limit.
“You really don’t understand the meaning of the word NO, do you?” Evelyn started, her voice spiked by annoyance. “Well, then I shall try to explain you this like I would to my dog if I have one. I am not coming with you.” She paused, smiling frostily. “Not today, not tomorrow... NEVER. Is this clear enough now?” She added, crossing her arms around the chest.
Who he thought he was? Like if she was going to follow him anywhere... Distance, she wanted distance. From him, that obnoxious, selfish, conceited, irritatingly jerk, all she wanted was a thousand miles of distance. Unfortunately enough, before she could stand her point on that obstinate man, the opposite elevator started to rise slowly catching her attention. Was it the police? That quick?... What if the man was right and they would judge her by the murderer? Would they try to shoot her, harm her?... Her head was so lost in her thoughts the, when the stranger walked his way toward her and grabbed her writ with am unexpected smooth and delicate movement, she barely realized it until he pulled her inside the elevator and placed his free hand over her mouth.
What the heck. What was he trying to do to now, kidnapping her? Oh now, he was so wrong if he thought he could take her that easily she would bit him, hit the elevator alarm... Oh yeah, she couldn’t. Before she had even time to react, he had wrecked away both possibilities of resistance leaving her no options but glare at him as he spoke, that stupid wicked smirk planted on his lips, and told her the new name he had just found for her. That thick and idiotic dumbass. If looks could kill...
Eyeing him coldly as they reached the bottom floor, once again he grabbed her forcing her to follow him as they exited the elevator and put his arm around her waist to hold her closer to him, and once again spoke. Good thing this time her communication abilities weren’t limited by him, at least for once she could make him pay back for daring to call her a ‘brat’. It was a shame she couldn’t go for the usual insults that were crossing over her mind, those were even too good for him. He deserved something much more annoying and... ridiculous. That was when something popped in her mind and a quick evil grin flashed on her lips.
“Of course, my Sweet Banana Pie... “Evelyn started, trying to keep her face even, her voice sugary and as soft as velvet. “Anything for you, my little twinkly-pooh.” She continued, giggling lightly as she touched hi nose like if he was a five year-old boy that had just asked his mum for an ice-cream, making the other people stare at him curiously.
Payback is a pregnant dog babe... She thought for herself, a mischievous grin planted on her lips as they exited the motel. And God, how good it felt. Even if he still was in control over her, something she intended to change quickly enough, a wide variety of ideas were now popping in her mind as he dragged her to some stupid bike, a rather cool looking one thought, and used all his strength to pull her up and place her arms around his wais right before he hit the accelerator and speed away from the street so quickly that the girl was forced to close her eyes and instinctively grabbed him a little more tightly.
What a beautiful and strange predicament she was in. Either she could keep her arms around him, and admit the fact she was allowing it and actually needed that amount of contact for safety porpoises, or release him and jump off that stupid vehicle, facing as consequence her own death. So many lovely possibilities. Sure, there was already the one that involved her telling him she was deadly afraid of that particular kind of vehicles, but for logical reasons (or the simple sake of her pride) that was completely out of question. It was, therefore, strange relief when he stopped the bike turned of the bike ignition.
Not daring to get of the bike, in fear she would probably get sick and end trapping against something, Evelyn forced herself to close her eyes and stare at the man silently, and look around herself to find nothing. Possible for the tenth time on that same day, like if her blood had was dynamite and her body had just been ignited by a flame, the Evelyn felt the rage boiling up inside her as she realized she was in the middle of nowhere, accompanied by non less than what appeared to be a annoying contract killer vampire, far away from Seattle where her grandmother was supposed to be expecting her in... minutes.
“I’m not going anywhere. Take me back now.” The words came out of her mouth, softly, as Evelyn kept holding back her urge to hyperventilate and stay as calm as humanly, or half-humanly possible. “Or don’t.” She added, quickly, forcing herself to get off the bike rather ungracefully, until her feet finally touched firm and solid ground. “I go by myself. I don’t need anyone’s help to find my...” She continued, turning around quickly and find the empty and desert road in front of her. “... back.”
That wasn’t good. Lost again, how lucky. “Okay, so perhaps I might need a little of help to find the way back... ” Evelyn muttered, turning around to face the stranger in defeat. “... Please?” she added lastly, her checks warming up quickly.
