Besides the inherited vampire abilities, Evelyn does also possess the special gift ot heal physical pain.
- At first sigh, Evelyn can be a rather shy and closed person but as soon as she gets to know other people better she shows up her true personality. Full of energy and vivacity, she never gives up when faced with a challenge. She tends to dream awake, what can easily make her a rather clumsy and distracted girl, as well as put her in troubles.
Evelyn’s caring and sweet manner is, perhaps, the first trait other people percept on her. Her tender and cheerful spirit can as easily captivate other people as can also be source of annoyance for others. She is an idealist and fights until the end for her beliefs, sometimes not caring for the consequences it might have for herself –
Character History ´ Those tales you cannot find on books
Family
Adoptive grandmother - Catherine Dawson Mother- Elizabeth Travis (Deceased) Father- unknown
- Evelyn was born at the end of August in a rainy and cold morning, a rather unpredictable weather taking in consideration it was the middle of the summer, but not surprising occurrence on that small and for many unknown village hidden deeply in Cornwall, England. Surprising had been, however, the early labor for the young and lonely Elizabeth Travis, Evelyn’s mother that unfortunately died some minutes after giving birth. Not know the identity of Evelyn’s father, it was an old and single woman of the town that had decided to take care of the little girl, and so she did despite the shock of many inhabitants or their surprise… Little was known about Elizabeth Travis when she had arrived. Rumors had been heard on those days she was left pregnant by her own family, that she didn’t know who the baby’s father was. Such a twisted fate for the child, they would said, but not that it had bothered Catherine Caldwell…Because if there was, indeed, someone in that small town that did know the truth about Elizabeth Travis and her newborn child, then that person was Catherine.
However, she decided to keep that truth secret, even from Evelyn. It was too dangerous for her, and she was so young to know that. Of course sooner or later she would tell her, but when she was prepared, when she could deal with it. Ten years would be enough for her to wait, but soon enough she found herself unequivocally mistaken. The small and fragile child was still days old when the oddest things started to happen around her. Those events weren’t unexpected for Catherine, though she wasn’t unaware how soon it would start for Evelyn to grow, and develop her powers…
Strange things, almost impossible, seemed to happen around Evelyn starting to wake suspicious on the other inhabitants. Rumors that she could already speak started to spread, and they moved from Cornwall and from England to… Ireland. It was far away enough from both, and she could perhaps wait more to tell Eve everything she knew, but once again her plans weren’t succeeded. The strange events didn’t cease, and soon enough Evelyn realized she wasn’t an ordinary child and started asking her questions.
By that time she was already two weeks and for Catherine’s surprise, she hadn’t yet showed the need of blood which at least gave the old woman a small bit of comfort. However, she couldn’t avoid anymore telling eve what she was, telling her she was a half-vampire and watch the small girl’s shock expression, and keep for her the only part of the truth. She was so young and she had already such burden, why tell her everything now? She kept the rest for themselves, but how long would Eve be satisfied with that small part?...
For Catherine it was easier to keep moving away every time anyone was suspicious of Eve, and moving away... Moving away for France, Brazil and Canada… There were not many remain options when on that same year, where Evelyn would have her sixteenth birthday, they moved for New York… Evelyn knew about her powers, about her nature, but yet she didn’t know anything about her past.
During almost sixteen years, moving from one small place of the world to another, both had been rather succeed keeping secret what she was, it had helped the uncharacteristic trait of Eve to prefer eating food instead of drinking animal blood, taking in consideration it was easier for them to not attract unwanted attentions. But Evelyn know was more wise than Catherine could ever imagine, and she knew there was something more that had been left unsaid..
Then, it happened again on her birthday: since many years ago, her powers got uncontrolled once again, giving them no remaining options than to move again, with one single difference: this time they had accidentally caught one particularly unwanted attention not leaving any remaining options for Catherine besides telling her the remaining part of the truth: the small and known part of the story about Eve’s father
Julius, that was his name … and beside the fact he was a vampire that was the only information Catherine had been able to give at Evelyn. Apparently the kind of vampire that indeed really feed on humans, or by other words, not a vegetarian at all. He had somehow got involved with Evelyn’s mother, accidentally getting her pregnant. It was a mystery, though, why he hadn’t ever killed Elizabeth Travis in first place.
Realizing the danger, Catherine decided the best was for them to move away again, however this time for the most deserted place possible. And so Evelyn ended up moving to Forks, a small place in the middle of Washington despite so much of her will. Knowing what it meant that change, she had no other option but move to the end of the world that apparently seemed to be called Forks… Move and hope she would get unnoticed and hope that everywhere her father was that she wouldn't ever have any notices from him… –
Role-play Sample ´ It’s time to prove your value
- Abby merely rolled her eyes when she heard the light laugher her last words had caused on Amber. Well, she was plenty aware the fact she wasn’t the deep talk kind of sister, but she too needed to talk sometimes… More concretely, spill out every single truth about her sister actual boyfriend. Perhaps, get to tell her what had just happened recently. She sighed remembering the painful and hard task it would be, explain what had happened with her on that night she had remembered herself to walk alone in an empty and dark alley…
She was just imagining, Amber to lecture her once again about the whole insane idea of walking in such a dangerous place, like she had done. And like on that day, Abby was already imagining again herself trying to interrupt her concerned rant...
Unsuccessfully. Honestly, she didn’t know neither how she would react at the fact she was a witch. To be honest to herself, even her was finding it rather strange and weird to get used at that. After all, she was supposed to be the outcast on the Stevens family, the end of the magic lineage.
She was already imagining herself… ‘Hey Amber, remember that silly day I walk myself alone in the alley? I was attacked by a demon, but don’t worry because Brett, Talia and Will helped me. AH, and by the way, I became invisible… I’m after all a witch, awesome isn’t it?’ Abby shivered at the though. That wasn’t one of the best ideas ever. Of course, Amber hadn’t know anything about the demon attack, much less what happened next. She had just told she had got lost and Brett had helped her finding the way back. It was such a coward action, but better than having Amber mad at her and nearly killing her on the spot. She had broke all the rules, and got in danger, really big and serious danger.
Abby tried to move away her perturbing ideas of telling Amber about that and focused in the safest reason she was willing to discuss with her. She grinned widely at remembering her previous intentions, almost completely putting aside her inside struggle to tell at Amber or not the unpredictable twist on Stevens family, and breathe deeply for a moment. “Well, I guess you know perfectly what I want to talk about...”She paused and stared at Amber with a inquiring look, enjoying every single second of anticipation her sister would have until Abby would finish. “More concretely, why it happens for you to have a boyfriend and never had remembered to tell me …” She added. Yeah, why it happens after all for you to be a witch and never had remembered to tell Amber that neither. She heard one accusing voice on her head, but merely ignored it.
Instead, she stood there, silently waiting for Amber’s reaction and carefully checking any sudden and imperceptible change on her expression. She had meet Chris Halliwell, some days ago, when her sister had remembered to take her to some dinner he had invited Amber. And as a good sister like she was, she had made up an excuse for not going. Not that she didn’t want to get to know the guy… Actually she was rather curious to meet him, but for Amber’s sake, and her own, she wasn’t willing to put herself in the middle of those two lovebirds. She shivered at the mere though of that possibility. No, definitely she had made the best choice ever. It would be unnatural, perturbing and far away too much tempting being in such a situation… She knew herself, and she knew that by the end of the night she would probably end planning any prank or making anything that would put her unnecessarily in trouble.
Her thoughts were suddenly finished when she hear someone calling her sister name, and Abby looked up curiously, startled by the sudden appearance and completely unprepared for finding out who was he. There he was, Chris Halliwell in person. Abby grinned like a maniac when she heard Amber’s posture change quickly. Her voice, everything… It was a surprise she wasn’t blushing already, but Abby was hoping that soon enough he would create that interesting effect on Amber’s features. Of course, the best was still to happen.
He clearly hadn’t noticed her presence there, and so Chris reached for Amber and put his arms around her waist. Abby’s grin widened when he kissed Amber and she couldn’t avoid but start to cough lightly, trying to disguise her burst of laugher… Something that could be the reason why he, seconds later, was aware of her presence. Or perhaps not, she couldn’t tell… However, she could so clearly see the almost imperceptible pink color that had filled his cheeks, and that got her uncontrolled. Getting up and still grinning, she chuckled amused trying to avoid laughing hysterically and feeling the amusement tears filling her greenish eyes.
Trying to control her sudden need to burst out laughing for the boys sake, Abby breathed deeply and soon enough felt her grin to soften lightly, being however replaced by a soft amused smile. What a perfect timing he had, she was about to spill everything about him from Amber and here he was. It seemed she would have to wait for another time… “Hi Chris, nice to see you. How have you been lately?” She asked smiling brightly, one innocent look filling completely her expression.´ -
