A man is giving a speech. He is wearing a gray suit with a black tie. His hair is as gray as his suit and his face all wrinkled. He wears glasses to read better from the tele-prompter. He is the Washington state senator, well one of them, and he is a threat to Mr. Salvatore. This senator refuses to side with the mob on a racketeering case against Mr. Salvatore himself. Alexander received orders to kill this man, make it look like a hit, so as to scare the other senator into siding with him. The speech was being given in a court yard, the speech was about mobsters and how they were ruining this country. It was dark, the sky was clear, the moon full and bright. Security was all around, in surrounding buildings and on roof tops. Where then could Alexander possibly shoot from?
Alexander watched the senator give his speech through his .50 caliber barrett sniper rifle. He was at the top of a distant building, over two thousand yards away. An impossible shot no doubt, not for Alexander though. He wasn't human after all, but not even Salvatore knew that. Alexander, as always, was donning a black formal suit, gray collared shirt with a black tie. He kept his scope on the target and his eye on a nearby little American flag that he placed there himself before the speech to know the wind direction. It was always a smart thing to do when killing from a distance, especially when your so far away. He never silenced his sniper, he figured it a dishonor to quiet such a beautiful creature.
Alexander was told to wait until the senator mentioned Mr. Salvatore himself before taking the shot. He had a high-powered micro-phone directed at the senator with small ear phones to listen. Alexander steadied his rifle as the senator began to talk about organized crime. He waited patiently, he adjusted his scope to north, that was the way the wind was blowing. He looked back through the scope and stayed his patience. The senator raised his hand in conviction, Alexander slowly began to tighten his trigger finger, then as soon as he spoke "The Salvatore..." Alexander pulled back on the trigger, exploding the bullet from the barrel, the large round spiraled through the air flawlessly the entire way and rammed through the senator's chest through his heart and he fell to the podium, bleeding his life away.
Alexander immediately began taking apart his sniper and packing it gently into it's case. Once it was neatly packed away he picked it up like a briefcase and carried it with him as he descended the stair case to the bottom floor. He left out the front door and as soon as he did, his cell phone rang. He knew who it was so he immediately answered. "The deed is done, I expect my full pay transfered to my off shore account as usual." The voice on the other end grunted in agreement and hung up. Alexander walked toward the alley beside the building and dialed a number quickly on his phone. "Tai, it's done, meet me in forks Washington ASAP, find me in the forest area." He said hanging up and turning into the alley.
He smiled at the sight of a beautiful, all black '04 honda. A gorgeous sports bike. It was his, just bought it after his last assassination. He hooked the case to the back and secured it. Jumped onto the bike and revved the engine loudly before taking of West to forks. He drove for about an hour and he was there. He had completely alluded the police and F.B.I. He drove right past them as he passed the court yard. He stopped about five miles from forks and pulled over and killed the engine to the honda, he walked it off the side of the road and hid it from sight then began walking toward town. This was his first time here in Washington, but he had a good sense of direction. He stopped at a clearing there was a lake, he stayed for a bit and watched the sunrise. It was morning now. Alex was waiting for Tiberius to show up.

It had been another successful night for Michelle but it was just getting boring. Night after night she hit the same club to feed her thirst for human blood and night after night her victims were fooled by her and didn’t fight her. At first it was fun, she could get anyone she wanted; but now it was just starting to get the same routine night after night. But then again, if her food would fight her then she’d be exposing her kind eventually. So she had to be really careful about it.
Her jeans were tight but getting flat as they reached her feet covered in black sneakers. Her black pullover showed part of her white tank top he had under it. Her hair was falling down her shoulders as she walked along the streets in Forks. It wasn’t like she felt any heat or cold, but she also couldn’t walk around naked. It was, basically, dress for the moment.
She did miss the fights and maybe she would have to go look for some shapeshifters but then again she’d end up causing more trouble than she wanted. Yeah, life as a vampire wasn’t being as interested as it used to be and her cover was starting to bore her to death. Ha, bore her to death, funny thing when she was an immortal… There hasn’t been any shows lately and maybe she should make one herself with her new clothes’ collection or maybe she should just take a break from it and focus on something else.
The scent in the air was leading her to potential new meals but Michelle stopped herself in the progress. She had her daily meal and right now she wasn’t even into some fun. She just wanted to get out and find the meaning for her existence that she stopped pursuing for quite a while. Before she noticed it she was at the lake as the sun started to rise.
She took a deep breath, distinguishing all the different scents in the air; the air itself, the trees, birds, bears, plants… all kind of flowers, and another one; a new scent she hasn’t ever smelled before. It was refreshing and sweet and it seemed like this was the scent Michelle had been looking for in the past few days. She slowly approached the source of this unknown, yet interesting scent, cautious not to make a sound since the scent indicated that it belonged to another vampire… a male one.
She approached the unknown male target and when her eyes finally reached him she felt and immediate attraction to him. She felt lust and desire to possess him; and usually when she felt that it was a good sign. The target used to survive when he happened to be a human; otherwise, how would she be able to have more fun later? These targets were hard to find and as long as she didn’t bite them it was alright.
“This place is beautiful, isn’t it?” She said as she came out behind some bushes, focusing her eyes on her target’s blue ones. “I’ve never seen you around here.” She finally started to flirt as she walked over to the other vampire until they were face to face.

He pulled a rather large knife out of the inside pocket of his suit and tossed it into the air a few times, Alex looked at the sun as it began to pierce over the few clouds and hit some spots on the lake. The sun reflected beautifully with sparkling lights showing off in all directions. It reminded him of himself, how the sun showed their skin to be sparkly and full of light. He put the knife away and looked around taking a glance at his wrist watch then turning back to the lake. A fish leapt out of the lake and an eagle swooped it up clutching it in it's sharp talons and carrying it off to feed. Alexander just watched and smiled. He lost sight of it as it flew over the trees and disappeared. He then caught another scent nearby, a vampire, but it wasn't Tiberius, and it was a female.
Alexander stayed his position and didn't move much, he was slightly pretending he hadn't noticed her as she crept up behind him. He yawned unnecessarily and waited for her to come to him. He was calm, he had nothing to fear in any vampire, he was quite sure he could take the Volturi head on as well. She walked over to him and spoke sweetly to him. He didn't bother turning around with her first comment, he didnt speak either. She came around and stood in front of him, he looked up at her with a neutral expression. "It's an absolute pleasure to meet your acquaintance my lady." He said with an Italian accent and spoke as if he was from the renaissance period, which he was. His eyes stayed locked with hers as he spoke.
He walked over to the pond and into the direct sun, it sparkled off him beautifully, as it would just about any vampire. "I am not from around here my lady, I am Alexander Kain Mortanius, and you are?" He spoke in his accent again turning to her as he did with a smile. He knew she was flirting with him, sure he thought she was some what attractive, well truth was he found her very attractive, he was just not really looking for a mate at the time. So he was simply amusing her for the moment until Tiberius arrived.

Now that Michelle was closer to him she could get the scent even better and it was more intense than she thought it could be. Maybe her special ability had some after effects after all. Not only could she seduce her victims so they would be her slaves, but she could also smell the lust coming from it and thus also smell the natural scent from others better to find her victims. It was getting harder for Michelle to stand her ground but she controlled herself from turning into the wild beast she was inside. She might look as a normal human and innocent on the outside, but inside her was a wild beast – the vampire.
The longer he looked into her eyes, the more she wanted to get into a wild loving adventure with him. He was acting casually towards her but she couldn’t take the feeling away that he thought of her as an attractive woman. Then he opened his mouth and as he spoke her ears were filled with his words that for her sounded like a sweet melody the birds would sing when she was still human and actually did appreciate it back then. That was so long ago and Michelle hadn’t felt this human since then. It was a change to the whole vampire existence and it felt so… good.
He spoke like a true gentleman would and Michelle started to wonder about his age. He didn’t seem to be all too young, his smell confirmed her theory but it didn’t tell her his age. Michelle wasn’t that good when it was about it; her only specialty was seduction, in a matter of facts. So this Alexander wasn’t from around here… and he surely had an unusual name as well. “I’m Michelle Coraline Alyson Stewart.” She replied, also introducing her full name.
She got a little closer to him and looked at him seductively. “So, Alex…” She spoke and lowered her voice as she tipped with her right index finger over his chest and moved her red lips closer to his ear. “What brought you to Forks all over from Italy?” She asked and maybe she could be from cause of the accent he was using; but this was also a good way to get into play in case he wasn’t from Italy; she could always play the cute little girl who was mistaken.

She introduced her full name as he had his. Michelle was her first name. He liked that name, it was quite beautiful in many ways his poetic heart could verse about it for centuries. He looked at her as she came closer to him and spoke in a seductive tone, obviously attempting to seduce him. He kept a calm and serene expression about his face when she asked about why he came all the way from Italy. So she was a smart girl, she knew her accents well. He looked down to her finger on his chest and he gentle grabbed it. Her touch was cold and icy, it chilled his dead heart to the core. He gently removed her finger and looked back at her. "Business..." He said turning away and walking toward a large pine and standing under it.
He looked up at the pine and noticed all the animals scurrying to hide from him and Michelle. He turned back to Michelle and gave her that same calm and blank expression and looked her in the eyes. He wondered about her, she didn't know much about him but his name and his home country, why was she so trying to seduce him? He admired her attempts and advances toward him, it was flattering really, but he hid any and all emotion besides his serenity. "What about you Lady Michelle? What brings you this far into this side of the forest?" He asked moving closer to the lake and lightly tossing a rock from the floor and into it. The ripples began to spread over the surface interfering with the serenity of the lake.
He wondered again what the heck was taking Tiberius so long to find him, he hoped he got his call, but maybe he didn't, he was supposed to meet him here after he finished his job in Seattle. He was sure with Alexander being the one who trained him, Tiberius would succeed flawlessly in his job and report back here as soon as possible.

His hand slowly moved to where her finger was and then it gently grabbed her finger to move it away from his chest. Even though the touch was cold, Michelle felt warm. Her senses were confusion her. She wasn’t supposed to feel like this… human. Something was wrong with Michelle and Alex was the cause of it. Usually a vampire would find his mate through their senses but Michelle doubted he would be her mate. She always thought she’d knew how it felt anyway before her former mate was taken from her brutally by some live events. But this was different, and maybe her special ability was just intensifying all the senses when she found her mate. This possibility seemed quite plausible for her but still not enough. She needed more proves, more facts.
As one to not being used to be seduced but only to seduce, Michelle was getting confused about this guy’s behavior. He looked at her like he wanted something but then again acted like he didn’t care. She watched him as he walked away from her. What wasn’t working here? By now he should be all over her and ripping off her clothes but nothing. He wasn’t even looking at her to check her out. What was wrong with him? He was straight, that she could smell. Or was it her abilities? But that just couldn’t be. It had just worked before, a few hours ago, so why wouldn’t it work now?
“Business, huh?” She asked him as she seductively passed her fingers through her brown hair and rested it on her neck and sprawled her upper body softly. “What kind of business if I may ask?” She asked as she walked over to him in a seductive way and her hand slowly fell from her neck down to her chest and then let it slowly fall casually to her side.
“Well, I just needed some time to think about a few things.” She politely answered his question as she moved even closer to him and gently leaned on him with her elbow on his shoulder. “Are you always such a gentleman or is it only casually?” She wondered and she was from giving up on this hottie. He surely would be a hard one to get but at least she couldn’t say it was boring anymore. However though, she did wonder what wasn’t working right here.

He saw what game she was playing at, trying to seduce him, for was a seductress, or was his guess. He was never wrong though about who he was dealing with. He had dealt with many girls in all his four hundred years. Though he never loved any of them, he only lusted for them. Alexander stopped doing that though because he felt it was no longer worth doing, he didn't find the true love he was really looking for. He looked at Michelle, but every time he did it was with no real sexual interest. It was simply his side of himself, looking for love not lust that was keeping him from pursuing this girl. She was beautiful, he'll give her that, but if lust was her game, he wasn't interested. She asked his business, she looked toward the sky then back to her. "Personal business my lady." He said with a respectful bow of his head in her direction with his eyes meeting hers right after.
He meant no disrespect, it was simply too dangerous of a thing to casually converse about with a stranger, even one as friendly as she was being. She was moving her hands all over her body, he looked on with a calm expression, occasionally looking away from her. She told him she was here to think about some things. He nodded his head, then she moved closer to him and leaned on him. She asked if he was always a gentleman. He looked at her and smiled slightly. He turned to face her, his hand softly grabbing her wrist as he moved himself closer to her, their faces just inches away. "I am who I am right now, I do not pretend to be what I am not my lady." He said leaning in close to her and pulling away at the last second walking over to the tree again and sitting under it.
He was laughing on the inside but kept his serenity on the outside. She was a seductress, and he was the one doing the seducing. He looked at his watch again, it had been five minutes since he last looked at it. Tiberius was late, he sure hoped nothing happened to him. He knew Tiberius wouldn't get lost cause hell, his power helped him find anyone he could think of. Alexander looked at Michelle with such calmness in his eyes.

Michelle was getting confused at how he could keep his ground and not be swept away by her. Truth be told, she was getting irritated that apparently she was having no effects on him. This was a first timer and Michelle just couldn’t understand what was happening. She cursed to herself in her mind and was honestly a little bit stressed about the fact that she didn’t know any ancient vampire she could turn to about this problem. She didn’t know that there were people… well, vampires out there who would be immune against the special ability she possessed.
Her senses were all messed up and she was the one being seduced now. She could feel it now and her senses told her that she was turning into the prey here; a typical hunter being the hunted now situation. But as long as her hunter would be Alex she didn’t mind being the hunted.
He didn’t talk much, truth be told. But what he spoke felt like an endless song Michelle could keep listening to like forever. “The mysterious kind I see, huh?” She wondered when he shortly replied to her that he was there for personal business.
Then once he grabbed her wrist her pulse missed a few beatings. That is... if she was human like she felt like she was one now. As their faces were inches away she could feel his breath as his voice echoed in her ears. She was being seduced by him and then turned down in the next second. What the hell was wrong here? Michelle was starting to wonder if something was wrong with her, although she was liking the chase. There were so many things she wanted to know about Alex but she knew better than attack him verbally with questions. Maybe she should try it the other way and pay no attention to Alex? But it was hard cause her senses were all messed up. “Waiting for someone?” She asked as she noticed him taking a look at his watch. “How long are you staying in Forks then?” She asked him casually as she slowly sat down on the green grass and crossed her legs in slow motion before she looked over to him.

Being ancient had its uses. You find yourself all the wiser when dealing with other whether they be human or vampire. You begin to become a library, full of stories, pages and pages of history left out of the text books that you held onto for your own personal knowledge. Knowing so much, experiencing so many things have taught him well. He learned full control of his thirst, passion, love and lust. Michelle could've taken her clothes off and came onto him and he still would have acted as if she was fully dressed, though it was just his way. He always had to remember where he came from and who he was. He would honor his family name and his father by staying the gentleman he taught him to be, no matter what. Chivalry was everything, he would treat women as equals, with respect and honor, and protect them when needed.
Though the rules changed a bit when your a vampire, your not supposed to speak to humans unless your going to kill them anyway. Female vampires were always able to protect themselves, though some weren't, there was no need in his world for a man such as him. This was perhaps the reason for Alexander ignoring her. He didn't want to be rude and as for his little seduction, he only thought it was fair since she was obviously trying to seduce him, but her seduction wasn't working. "There are many truths about me I am not proud of my lady, sometimes its better not to bring others into your troubles." He said looking her in the eyes as she sat down slowly.
She asked if he was waiting for someone, he nodded at her a yes. Then she asked how long he was staying in forks. He looked away for a moment then turned back to her. "Depends on if there is any reason for me to stay here Lady Michelle." He said looking at his hand, as if fascinated by it, the sun was shining on it, there fore his skin on his hand was sparkling brightly. He slowly twirled his hand around a the diamonds on his hand continued to sparkle like stars in the clear night sky.

It just wasn’t working. Nothing Michelle would do or say was making Alex get into her seduction game. He did act pretty wise and she was actually impressed by his manners and is whole posture, like nothing in this world could touch him. He seemed from another time Michelle had never known. Ok, she did know he was much older than her but she didn’t know exactly how old. She was getting too curious about Alex but for now she decided to pin the seductress and just be herself. Yeah, she was pissed and irritated it wouldn’t work like she had planned but as soon as she got control over her senses she decided to keep them under control.
“You’re probably right about that. But trouble can be an exchange once in a while.” She commented casually and then rested her upper body on her elbows which met with the ground. She leaned her head back to feel the morning sun on her skin, knowing it wouldn’t take long for her skin to start to shine like she was covered with diamonds.
From the corner of her eyes she watched Alexander look at his hand as he spoke. She closed her eyes for a moment, pondering what she could say next. “And what kind of reason would make you stay around? A good hunt? I know the best places for it and it won’t drag any attention to us vampires either.” She offered, hoping he’d take the genuine invitation from her.

She agreed but not fully it seemed with the danger. She seemed the type to welcome a little thrill every now and again, he admired that but he didn't show it. Alexander put his hand down out of the sun as she rested herself in it's soothing rays, her skin beautifully sparkled in the sunlight, he looked her in the eye still. He was curious about why this girl was so curious about him, not that he minded the questions, but a female as beautiful as she, didn't she have a mate running around somewhere?"A vampire as old as I can go awhile without hunting, it's a blessing really...to control your thirst." He said with a handsome smile to her. He thought about her offer for a moment, rubbing his hairless chin.
He really didn't find a reason to stay here long enough to have to feed. "As far as staying here, the lake is quite nice, but it'll loose it's shine eventually as do most things in this life." He said looking at an empty spot beside her, he noticed a lady bug there, he watched it as it flew away in a hurry. He looked back to Michelle with the same serenity in his eyes. He thought about it to himself, finding what he's been searching for would definitely be a reason to stay in forks. Though he doubted he'd find his true love in forks. Then even if he did, he had to think about Tiberius, he was like a brother to him, they were friends and he couldn't make Tiberius settle down somewhere just because he had.
"Tell me a few things about you lady Michelle, I am curious to your history, as i am sure you are to my own." He asked with a smooth and charming smile as his italian accent rang from his lips with his ancient dialect. He was sure she was so veery curious to know more about him, everyone he met was, but something was different in this female. He didn't know what, so he just pondered and waited for her answer to his question.

Those blue eyes of Alex kept watching Michelle as she lied there on the grass, just enjoying the view and the company as well. “Mind me asking your age then?” She said without thinking but when she realized she had asked for his age it was already too late. It had been a while… a long, long while, since Michelle decided to be just herself around someone. There hasn’t really been any reason for her to, so why show people her true self when she was ending up feeding on them anyway?
“Poetry… nice.” She said as he rhymed when he talked about the lake. It probably wasn’t meant to rhyme or be poetry at all, but to Michelle it did kinda sound like that and his deep voice just sounded so sweet for that matter.
She wondered what he was thinking about when he looked at her. Apparently his thoughts were genuine and not about lust or anything similar about her, since he seemed to be immune against her seduction, something she did have to investigate yet on how that was possible.
“My history?” Michelle asked surprised and wondered how he knew she was interested in his. She didn’t quite know what to say, so before she started on rambling about her life history she wanted to make sure first. “What do you want to know about me Alex?” She asked and paused for a while before she continued. “I am not a vampire for very long, but I did see a lot in my few years of a vampire’s existence.” She concluded, hoping she could get him interested in who she was without the seducing powers. Now she had to get back to her human ways of seduction, like she did before she was turned and introduced to this new world.

He closed his eyes for a moment, as if he could sleep. He opened them slowly and they met hers dead on ."They say you can tell how old a tree is by cutting it from the trunk and counting the circles...were I a tree I'd have about four hundred five circles." He said with a sly smile growing on his lips. So now she knew exactly how old he was, a very old vampire, next to the Volturi of course. He wondered what she was thinking about now that she knew his age. Was she afraid now or interested? He was sure she'd be even more interested now. She seemed different then when she as hitting on him before, somehow, calm, serene, it was beautiful to look at. He couldn't help but smile at her.
She commented on his words about the lake being poetic. "It's just my common tongue Lady Michelle." He said turning to the lake once more and admiring it's beauty, then turning back to her and admiring hers. She asked what he wanted to know about her, he thought about it for a moment, then she said had experienced alot in her few years of being a vampire. "Though I wonder, whats a few years my lady?" He asked, not answering her prior question to what exactly he wanted to know just yet.
Pure admiration such as his was a rare treat, she probably didn't know it but Alexander did think she was beautiful. He didn't look or even think of her once in the lustful sense or as a piece of meat on a string. No he was much too noble and serene for that. Serenity was his muse, he enjoyed it everywhere he went, the principals upon which Calmness was established, absolutely fascinating to him. Patience was always a virtue to him, as were many things that were once noble during his time. Oh how the mighty have fallen, the world had changed, but not Alexander, he was the same and would never change.

Four hundred years… wow, that was quite a lot. This would explain the way he talks, something Michelle came to like in the past few minutes since she had met him. She knew he would be older than her, but not that older. Surprised she looked at him and wondered at what age he was turned. “Well, you don’t look that old to me.” She joked a little as she gave him a shy smile. She didn’t mind the age, though she knew he had other standards and a completely different education than hers. It was all over him anyway, his looks, the way he moved and talked, his scent… For the first time in her vampire existence she felt uncertain about someone. She started to think; to him she was probably just a little girl, considering her young age compared to his. Sure, she was still interested but she knew there was just too much time between them, which might become a problem, something Michelle secretly hope for it wouldn’t.
For the first time she was unsure about what she wanted at the moment. It had started with lust, an sexual attraction through her senses that had led her to Alex, now she wasn’t so sure anymore. It felt different but it was unknown to her. “Thirty four years of being a vampire. As you can see, nothing compared to yours.” She pointed out and felt a little small now. “I was turned at 25.” She continued but stopped herself, not knowing if she should just start talking about her past or just stay quiet until he asked her something. She decided for the second option, then at least she wouldn’t make a fool of herself by starting to ramble on, also cause her past had her little brother in it she had left behind and still today regretted that.

She commented on him not looking that old. He smiled warmly at her and nodded. "I came into this existence at the tender age of twenty. A female vampire turned me while I walked her home one night." He said leaving out the details of that night. He remembered it like it was yesterday. He sat in the pub with his friends from the college he was attending. She walked in, immediately begging for attention. His friends were all trying to woo her, Alexander was the only one who wasn't, so she chose him to walk her home. He did as any gentleman would do for a pretty young lady. Then she turned him. It was painful, he could still feel his neck where she bit him, the pain he could still feel even after all these years.
Almost getting lost in his extensive history, Michelle told him she had been a vampire for thirty four years and was turned at age twenty five. Alexander nodded. "You don't look a year over twenty one my lady." He said with a smile, his eyes still invading her eyes with curiousness. She fell silent, he tilted his head to the side for a moment in wonder. "Tell me how you became a vampire Lady Michelle, please." He said with a polite tone. He wondered about how many different stories there were with people being turned, Alexander and Tiberius were turned on purpose, some people were turned accidentally, and he wondered which was her story.
He heard small, tiny birds chirping in the distance as the sun was still rising, it was time for the animals, the ones still sleeping, to awaken. He had just about forgot about Tiberius for the time being, he knew when Tiberius was ready he could find him anywhere he went, as was his power to find anyone at anytime. Alexander found it to be a useful power, but he was happy with his own gift.
